It depends on the waiting line in the office. Once you get in to see the doctor, it's all very quick and painless. Usually you will have to answer some brief questions. Yes, some of them will be personal (about your sex life) but don't be embarrassed or feel like you need to lie. It's all kept confidential, and no one is there to judge you or look down on your answers. Then, they will take a blood sample. Don't worry, it's a quick little vial (not one of those huge bags) and it really doesn't hurt a bit. The whole office process usually takes 30 min or so. It usually takes about a week or so to get your results. Kudos for having it done and staying safe!

There are some places where you can go in, give a blood sample, wait 15 minutes, and get your results.Some places may take a couple days, others a couple weeks.Personally, I ordered a FDA approved home testing kit online. I live in Minnesota, and had to get my sample sent to Illinois. They provided an overnight FedEx mailing envelope, and two days after I dropped it off in the box my test results were in.
